Is estate planning your New Year's resolution?

Date: Jan 07, 2014

What are your New Year's resolutions? If you're like 54 per cent of those who live and work in New South Wales, they'll have something to do with your health or financial situation.

That's according to the latest ING DIRECT Financial Wellbeing Index, which asked people from all over the country what they hope to achieve in 2014.

An impressive 22 per cent of people from this state who contributed to the index said they would like to improve their health over the coming year, while 21 per cent said the same about their financial situation.

Those who fall into the latter category are optimistic about their prospects. A total of 38 per cent of households in New South Wales said they felt positive about their financial situation for this year.

There are a number of steps you can take to put yourself in a better financial position by this time next year. While you're taking them, you may also want to consider your estate planning options, to protect what you've worked hard to achieve.
