Dora Maddock was admitted to practise as a lawyer in 2001. Before joining Craddock Murray Neumann in 2008 she worked with National Business Lawyers in Canberra, gaining significant experience in the field of commercial law, and for another prominent firm providing services to a major insurer.

At Craddock Murray Neumann, Dora works as a litigator in civil, criminal and commercial matters, and has also established a wills, estates and probate practice.

Dora has strong “people skills” which can be invaluable, whether in taking instructions for a complex will, or in taking a witness statement in hard-fought litigation. She is able to establish an understanding of the relevant facts of a case effectively. Dora has a background in mathematics and psychology and has delivered training in conflict resolution and equity and diversity at tertiary level. Utilising these skills she has developed a meticulous, methodical and logical approach to her practice, whether it be preparing documents such as a will, or in assembling expert evidence for a hearing.

At present, Dora is responsible for representing clients in criminal law matters such as corporate fraud, drug possession, drink driving and negligent driving. She also acts in disputed estate matters under the Family Provision Acts, in employment litigation for both companies and individuals, in debt recovery and insolvency matters, and in negligence litigation as well as the full range of matters associated with a busy wills and estates practice.

Dora is very accessible, approachable and readily establishes rapport with her clients. She has the ability to listen and gets straight to the issues, ascertaining the relevant facts quickly. Dora adopts a very practical approach to solving legal problems and provides practical down to earth solutions in a timely and effective manner. As a member of the litigation team, she also draws on the invaluable resources of her colleagues to provide high quality advice, representation and service.
